Vent Propane Stove
With fossil fuels depleting and the levels of petroleum used by the world, it is an alarming signal for us to resort to alternative fuels to ensure that our daily need for fuels does not come to a standstill. Since time immemorial, heating of food has been a practice. Without any source of heat and energy, any household be it anywhere in the world is incomplete.
Propane is one such fuel, which can be used as an alternative to heat up your food. Earlier Propane was predominantly used to heat open spaces. Moreover slowly as the need for domestic fuels increase propane stoves have been the most sought after options available. Propane fuelled equipment has been used domestically for barbeques etc. Mainly they have been used at places where it can be used out in the open. The main reason for this is that Propane is highly active fuel and any combustible material around is likely to catch fire.
Carbon Monoxide exists in the air and the level of percentage that it constitutes the air is normally not enough for Propane gas to cause any damage, but a slight increase in the levels is certainly dangerous as there is a high chance of causing an explosion. Propane is derived from both crude natural Gas as well as in liquid form. Since it has combustible properties it is used extensively in factories and houses in form of Dryers/ Heaters and the latest being the Stove.
Although the Stove powered by Propane has been in use for a long time, there is a little caution that one must be made aware of. The nature of Propane is to ignite immediately in presence of any combustible compound. The air around us consists of many combustible gases and CO being the most amongst them in terms of the percentage ratio. Oxygen is present in the maximum quantity followed by CO2 and then by CO. The O content in all these gases if broken down independently is capable of igniting fire in case of any contact with an active fuel. Hence, it becomes very important that when one uses the appliances powered by Propane 1 either needs to make the equipment so rugged that there are no leaks or make it for an outdoor use. The vent in the stove, which carries the gas to the Burner, thus becomes a critical component in the design. Make sure one gives due attention to the quality standards that have been adhered to in the design and the warranty mentions replacement instead of repair as once a vent is damaged it is virtually impossible to get it back to its original form…
Propane is good but only if it is safe ….
